Their version is built on a solid foundation of soy sauce, but they’ve added tamarind, roasted red pepper purée, and peanut butter. This combination gives it a wonderfully full, rich flavor and an irresistible umami effect that your noodles, meat, and vegetables will love.

Preparation

Cook the rice—ideally in a rice cooker—using a 1:1 ratio of rice to water.

In hot oil, sauté the chicken or tofu until golden brown (7 min). Add the red bell pepper and scallions, and sauté for 4 min.

Add the sauce, stir everything together, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Garnish the finished dish with peanuts or sesame seeds and a squeeze of lime.

Storage

Store in a dry, dark, and cool place. Once opened, store at a temperature of up to +7 °C and consume within 7 days.
