Did you know that...
The shell of macadamia nuts is said to be one of the hardest in the world? Special machines are needed to open the shell. That's why their price is slightly higher than other nuts.
Why macadamia nuts?
Macadamia nuts are native to the Australian rainforests and are relatively new and less well-known compared to other nuts. The tree on which macadamia nuts grow is called Macadamia nut, and it is grown mainly in Australia and South Africa.
They contain a large amount of "healthy" fats and are therefore beneficial for our heart, stabilizing cholesterol levels and even cleaning our arteries.
They are also a great antioxidant. They strengthen immunity, protect our cells and supply the body with the necessary vitamins and minerals for the healthy development of our little ones.
Macadamia nuts contain soluble and insoluble fiber, which improves our digestion, helps flush toxins from the body, and at the same time gives us a feeling of satiety, so even athletes can enjoy them with a clear conscience.
Although macadamia nuts are among the fattiest on the market, they have a low glycemic index and are therefore suitable for diabetics. In addition, they are so-called "healthy" fats, so you don't have to worry about them, even if you're trying to lose weight, as long as you don't overdo it. On the contrary, the fiber they contain will quickly provide a feeling of satiety, improve your digestion and strengthen your organs.
The interesting thing about macadamia nuts is that there are seven types of nuts, but only two of them are edible for humans. Macadamia nuts are harvested when they fall to the ground, because only then can we be sure that the fruits are ripe. Moreover, the fruits ripen gradually, so the harvest can take up to six months.
Macadamia nuts are classified into several styles, numbered 0-7, with style 0 being the highest quality, beautiful round kernel. Macadamia style 0 means that 95% of the nuts are whole kernels. Style 1 is similar, containing 90% whole kernels. Style 2 and higher grades contain only 50% whole nuts or less. Unfortunately, these are the most common on the market.
We import the highest quality macadamia nuts for you, style 0 and style 1, even directly from Australia. Australian macadamias are considered to be of higher quality and tastier than African ones, so you can expect a luxurious gourmet experience and excellent quality.
